Procedural Knowledge and Positive Employee Attitudes
This paper discusses influences on performance. This article provides insight on how organizational procedures can invoke positive employee attitudes. The first concept covered is the transparency of organizational procedures and how this will lead to more fair judgement of those procedures by employees. In turn a chain reaction occurs in which there is fair evaluation of supervisors, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment. There are also guidelines discussed for the development of organizational procedures. One suggestion is that they should be established in order to reach desirable work outcomes, for example establishing procedures on communication information. The rationale behind this is the relationship between supervisors or managers and their role in enforcing and administering company procedures. To further strengthen the relationship of organizational procedures and employee attitudes and study was conducted which consisted of two resorts being examined through the use of surveys. The findings were that there was a strong correlation of positive attitude and communication from the human resources department regarding organizational policies and procedures. The main take away from this article is how fair procedures, dissemination of procedures, and measurable standards have a huge effect on organizational committee from employees.
